Presented in connection with the KCC exhibition <The Drawings of Mother-of-Pearl Inlay Artisans>

The Korean Cultural Centre Canada, in collaboration with the Seoul Museum of Craft Art, is pleased to present a hands-on craft program, <Treasure Box of the Najeonjang>.

This program introduces the history and techniques of traditional Korean najeon (mother-of-pearl inlay) craft. Participants will learn about its cultural significance and create their own treasure box using genuine mother-of-pearl, and experience the refined beauty of this centuries-old craft tradition.

The Korean Cultural Centre Canada (KCC) and the Seoul Museum of Craft Art (SeMoCA) are pleased to present the special touring exhibition <The Drawings of Mother-of-Pearl Inlay Artisans>, on view from Thursday, October 23 to Friday, December 12, 2025. This exhibition is organized as part of the Touring K-Arts Project, supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and administrated by the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE).
Focusing on the theme of “Mother-of-Pearl through Drawings,” the exhibition highlights najeon designs, the drawings that serve as blueprints for the intricate patterns created by cutting and inlaying pieces of shell. Featuring more than 100 works, it brings together rare designs and masterpieces by master artisans of the modern era alongside new creations by contemporary artists, offering a unique perspective on the enduring beauty and innovation of Korean mother-of-pearl lacquerware.

Make Your Own Webtoon Character: ToonToy In conne Make Your Own Webtoon Character: ToonToy

In connection with the exhibition <K-Comics World>, the Korean Cultural Centre is hosting a drop-in workshop, <Make Your Own Webtoon Character: ToonToy>, every Saturday during the exhibition period.
This hands-on, DIY program invites participants of all ages to design and create their own cute and expressive character figures. Just like the heroes of webtoons, you can draw, customize, and bring your very own original character to life!
No registration is required, and all materials will be provided. Simply drop in on Saturdays and enjoy this fun, self-guided creative activity.

On September 17, 2025, the Korean Cultural Centre Canada (KCC), in partnership with the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), hosted a special artist talk with LEE Yun-chang, creator of the popular webtoon My Daughter is a Zombie, as part of our exhibition K-Comics World.
Audiences had the opportunity to hear directly from the artist about his creative journey and the inspiration behind his work. Following the talk, participants were able to meet the artist in person and receive his autograph, making the evening even more memorable.
We would like to thank everyone who joined us for this event! The exhibition <K-Comics World> continues until October 15.

On September 16, we were delighted to celebrate the opening of K-Comics World at the Korean Cultural Centre Canada.
This exhibition introduces visitors to the dynamic world of Korean webcomics, highlighting the creativity, imagination, and cultural impact of this rapidly growing art form. We are proud to feature two remarkable works: My Daughter is a Zombie by artist LEE Yun-chang, and Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, created by singNsong, adapted by UMI, and illustrated by Sleepy-C.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for this special evening. K-Comics World will be on view until October 15, 2025—we warmly invite you to visit the Centre and experience the colourful, immersive, and imaginative world of Korean webcomics for yourself!

Earlier this September, the KCC brought Korean Cul Earlier this September, the KCC brought Korean Culture Day 2025 to the Northwest Territories! 🎉
From K-pop, Taekwondo to K-Food and film, we shared the richness of Korean culture with the community.

Although our planned visit to Fort Providence was cancelled due to wildfires in the eastern NWT, we were grateful for the chance to visit the Yellowknife Field House and share Korean food and snacks with evacuees. We pray for the community’s fast recovery. 🙏
